Eswatini
Project Information:
Eswatini ERS Microgrid EPC Project
Project Scale:
356kWp PV, 500kW/1.125MWh Energy Storage, 660kVA Diesel Generator (Customer Side)
Project Value:
Power Generation: The system is projected to generate over 550 MWh in its first year, with a total estimated yield exceeding 12,000 MWh over a 25-year lifecycle, averaging more than 500 MWh annually.
Project Estimated Revenue: First-year revenue is expected to range between $100,000 and $110,000, while the total lifetime revenue is projected to be within the $2.2 million to $2.3 million range.
Project Details:
As the main EPC contractor, Hexing South Africa undertakes this turnkey project encompassing engineering, procurement, and construction. Utilizing Livoltek’s proprietary grid-tied inverters, energy storage systems, and EMS, Hexing takes full ownership from design and procurement through to delivery, marking a significant milestone in South Africa’s new energy market.

On-site Implementation

Energy Management System

Customer Pain Points:
1. Unstable power supply, unscheduled outages causing equipment shutdown and data loss;
2. Power rationing, single outage sometimes lasting up to 4 hours, high frequency of diesel generator use;
3. High electricity costs: average monthly electricity and diesel expenses total approximately $10,000 to $20,000.
Project Value:
1. Utilizing the microgrid system, equipment monitoring is performed through the EMS system, enabling flexible configuration and regulation such as peak shaving and valley filling, energy arbitrage, and reduction of transformer demand.
2. The system is connected to the grid at 0.4kV, enabling black start on the low-voltage side.
3. Achieve seamless switching between grid-connected and off-grid modes on the 0.4kV low-voltage side of the microgrid and the main grid, ensuring timely power supply.
